Request for Temporary Public Art Proposals – Deadline: 09-06-16
Request for Temporary Public Art Project Proposals
Call dates: July 12, 2016 – September 6, 2016
Project Budget: $30,000
Part of the Fort Worth Public Art Master Plan Update
The Opportunity
Barbara Goldstein and Jessica Cusick seek a team of arts professionals based in North Texas to propose a project that engages the community as part of the public art master plan update.
The project is intended to be a way to reach Fort Worth residents in multiple settings at existing public events/activity areas, rather than the typical method of expecting them to attend public meetings.
The ideal project will engage people of all ages and backgrounds in a “lively and compelling way.”
Artist teams are invited to propose activities that will:
- actively reach the public
- result in measurable information
- generate artistic endeavors that can be used in the update of the Fort Worth Public Art Master Plan
Eligible projects should take place in at least twelve locations throughout Fort Worth, including one in each of the 8 City Council Districts, over a six month period from October 2016 through February 2017, with a goal of producing a group of ideas that can be recorded and incorporated into the Fort Worth Public Art Master Plan Update. The first event will take place in mid-October 2016. Most events will likely take place during weekend days and/or weekday evenings.
